Jeremy Teddy Karn

Jeremy Teddy Karn was born in Monrovia, Liberia. He earned his MFA in Poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Kwame Dawes and Chris Abani selected his chapbook Miryam Magdalit for inclusion in the New-Generation African Poets’ Chapbook Boxset (APBF), 2021. He received the John C. Shupe Award in Poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and has taught Creative Writing at the University of Iowa. His poetry has received funding from the Stanley Awards International Fellowship at the University of Iowa. He was also a finalist for the Two Sylvias Press Chapbook Prize in 2024.
