You Were a Ghost and I

Published: Categories: Jenna Cardinale Tags: Feature 45 · Jenna Cardinale · Poem

was a ghost.

Let the trees hide

the stubborn high

rises.

So hot not

even the lake

moves. Weighted

by the water in the air.

What a sound

unsettles. The thing

that makes me sad is.

All my bodies

of water.

Take your trash

with you. But not

all of it.
