Jonathan May grew up in Zimbabwe as the child of missionaries. May teaches in Memphis, Tennessee, where he served as the inaugural Artist in Residence at the Brooks Museum of Art. In addition, he has taught writing as therapy for people with eating disorders. He is the author of three books, and his work has appeared in more than 40 literary journals.
